C31400 Brass Hex Bar Products

Description

Leaded commercial bronze C31400 combines the natural corrosion resistance of C22000 with the machinability typical of leaded brasses. Like C22000, it is an alpha brass nominally composed of 89% copper and 9% zinc, but it also contains approximately 2% lead to impart free-cutting characteristics.

Typical Uses

Screws, screw machine parts, pickling crates, and architectural hardware.

C36000 Brass Hex Bar Products

Description

Free Cutting Brass C36000 is nominally composed of 61.5% copper, 35.4% zinc, and 3.1% lead. It is the alloy most often used for continuous high-speed machining operations.

Typical Uses

Hardware such as gears and pinions where excellent machinability is an important requirement, as well as for all types of automatic high-speed screw machine products.

C46400 Brass Hex Bar Products

Description

Naval brass C46400 is nominally composed of 60% copper, 39.2% zinc and 0.8% tin. As is typical of brass alloys with the duplex alpha +beta structure, C46400 has good strength and rigidity.

Typical Uses

Considered the most widely used of the tin brasses, C46400 is used to fabricate a variety of nuts, bolts, rivets, bearings, bushings, lockpins, valve stems, propeller shafts, and marine hardware.

C48500 Brass Hex Bar Products

Description

Leaded naval brass C48500 is nominally composed of 60% copper, 37.5% zinc, 1.8% lead, and 0.7% tin. As is typical of brass alloys with the duplex alpha + beta structure, C48500 has good strength and rigidity.

C48500 is typically used for fasteners, valve stems, screw machine products, and marine hardware.

Description

Corrosion resistant to checmicals found in water and gas with strength equivalent to stainless steel.
