composite tooling thyssenkrupp materials na

Composite tooling is a staple of the prototyping industry and applications for low volume part runs. thyssenkrupp Engineered Plastics stocks a number of materials including Vacuum/Pressure casting Resins, Fastcast Castable Urethanes, and Reaction Injection Molding Resins. thyssenkrupp Engineered Plastics also supplies two-part silicone casting materials as well as foundry pattern materials and casting Polyurethanes.

Rampf Styling Boards, Modeling Boards and Tooling Boards

We stock a comprehensive range of epoxy and polyurethane boards for styling, modeling, and tooling. Our board and paste materials range from low to high density and they can be used for numerous applications including conventional modeling and prototyping applications, high-temperature tooling, RTM molds, checking, and stamping tools.

Tooling Notes for Polyurethane and Epoxy Boards, and Paste Materials:
Our line of RAKU-TOOL® products from RAMPF Group can be cut using normal wood working power tools with high speed steel tools. Although longer tool life can be maintained by using carbide tools.
For boards over 43.7 pcf (0.72 g/cm3 saw blades with offset carbide teeth will reduce binding.

Rampf Closed Contour Casting

Close Contour Casting (3C) is the new, innovative concept from Rampf Tooling to produce close contour models through vacuum casting. 3C turns into 3D and your idea takes shape. Products produced with 3C are of the highest quality and the mechanical properties can be adjusted to meet your needs and applications.

From *3C to 3D- Your Benefits

  • Quicker Machining, less tool wear and less wastage through close contour casting
  • Less manual finishing required due to our vacuum casting process. The surface is seamless, smooth, and very dense.
  • No Bonding, seamless surface of casting.
  • Easy transport as the material is relatively light when compared to conventional materials.
  • Good Dimensional Stability. Very little stress as the material is isotropic like board material.
  • No Limitations
  • QUICK DELIVERY!!

Fabwood Pattern Plank

Fabwood Pattern Plank is manufactured to provide moisture free, knot free, and stress-free pattern plank that is machined and semo-finished to size. Fabwood is designed to take the labor of plaining, jointing, and sanding that usually goes along with regular pattern lumber. Sizes are actual and in almost all cases flat and square for off the shelf machining and gluing.

Fabwood Pattern Plank is available in Mahogany, Sugar Pine, Red Alder, Pine, and Poplar species.

Fabwood Pattern Plank is virtually defect free. The grain is tight and straight and gives a better surface after sanding. Fabwood ends are sealed which reduces possibilities of checking/cracking. Fabwood is a very stable product for foundry pattern work and most prototype thermoforming tooling applications.
